Intermediate – Desktop replacements

Swapping your desktop for a laptop either because you need computing mobility or you want to save desk space does need careful consideration. With a higher budget, you should be looking at a 15” screen with widescreen display, a Pentium Core2duo processor, an 80GB hard disk, a minimum 512MB of RAM, a DVD-RW drive and a 3D graphics card and all in a laptop with a weight of no more than 3kg.
A configuration of this sort would be ideal with those involved with gaming, multimedia and photo or video editing. Heavier models may cost a bit less their less then portable sizes may result in shorter battery life. If mobility isn’t the major issue, then you’ll most likely do better in terms of money value by considering other high end desktops rather than laptops.
